Feed Management
Never discover you're out of feed at 6 AM.
Feed inventory is tracked by bag and daily ration, so families and advisors always know how many days of feed are left -- instead of finding out when the bag is already empty.
- Days-remaining calculated from actual usage, not guesswork
- Low-feed alerts sent to families before it runs out
- Bag-weight conversion for shared chapter supplies
- Feed cost tracked per animal and across the whole project
How it works
Inventory by bag, ration by animal
Feed purchases are logged by bag and weight, and each animal gets a daily ration. Every feeding logged against that ration draws down the inventory automatically.
Days-remaining, calculated from real usage
Instead of a static estimate, days-remaining is recalculated from actual logged usage and trended over time, so a family can see if burn rate is creeping up before the bag actually runs out.
Shared or individual supply
Chapters can track a shared feed supply that auto-decrements as students log feedings, with bag-weight conversion handled automatically, or families can track their own supply independently.
Low-feed alerts
When inventory crosses a low threshold, the family gets notified -- so a feed run happens with a couple days' notice instead of at 6 AM with an empty bin.
