Accessibility

ShowReady OS is used by students, families, advisors, and district staff with a wide range of abilities and devices -- from a phone in a barn to a desktop in a district office. We want it to work well for all of them.

What we do today

  • Semantic HTML and a consistent heading structure on every page, rather than visual-only styling standing in for real structure.
  • Keyboard-navigable forms, dialogs, and menus throughout the app.
  • Color choices in our navy/brass palette are checked for contrast against both light and dark backgrounds.
  • Text alternatives for icons and images that convey meaning, not just decoration.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing practice, not a one-time checklist. We review and fix issues as we find them, and we take reports seriously -- if something in ShowReady OS doesn't work well with a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, or other assistive technology, we want to know about it.

Tell us about a problem

If you run into an accessibility barrier anywhere in ShowReady OS, let us know through our contact page -- include what you were trying to do and what happened, and we'll look into it.
